Restaurant in Business 24 Years to Relocate Miami Beach Store

Taco Rico’s regulars in Miami Beach will soon have a change of scenery.

The 24-year-old Tex-Mex chain is relocating its Miami Beach unit to a 1,238 square-foot space at 409 – 411 15th Street, and expects to reopen it in August. The restaurant’s Miami Beach store has been open since 2006 and is still operating, but its current spot at 1608 Alton Road was recently sold and will be redeveloped.

Taco Rico will eventually join Sriracha House, Oh My Buns!, Spitfire Grill and Five Guys Burgers and Fries at 1500 Washington Avenue, which is now fully leased. Michael Silverman, senior associate at the Comras Company, represented the landlord in the transaction.

“We had a wide array of tenants interested in this opportunity, but ultimately we chose to move forward with Taco Rico because they have a proven track record of success in the Miami Beach market,” Silverman said in a statement.

Taco Rico opened its first location on US-1 and Le June Road in Coral Gables in 1992. Today, the chain has locations in Doral, Pinecrest, Davie, Coral Gables, Miami Beach and Miami’s Bird Road and West Kendall.

The fast-casual restaurant serves fajitas, enchiladas, steaks and features a salsa bar.
